takes me away to a distant place

i love how this is in mexican! good work! adds some worldly flair to ng.com.

off to taco bell i go, thanks bye.

I thought I could do well here

I was disappointed to find that the games where you could usually apply some skill were all luck based.

My strategy was to play the games where I had the highest weighted average return.

In turn, I generated a number as my rating for this game. Lucky you.

Relatively hack resistant too. (cant say I didn't try!)

Good, but could use some more things.

This game was good, but here are some tips to make it better.

-Weapons and armor!! It would be sweet to kill your wife and boss and stuff.
-lets get a levelling system. would be way mor fun to level up and be stronger
-multiple characters
-minigames. it was so boring to walk, so either add mounts, or minigames while you travel and talk to people.
-click-thru dialogue...look some people dont want to listen to all that! i just wanted to click thru.
-can you say secret cow level!?!?
-that's about it

Just the name

After seeing the intro and reading the title, i knew this was epic win.

Nope

A few things, noob:

The operation that changes text like this to binary is NOT a TRANSLATION. Translations occur between languages, that people speak and/or write, which, when properly done, consider things like conventions, idioms and context. Do you know a place they speak binary? Does binary have slang? How do you conjugate verbs in binary? So instead, what you're doing is a CONVERSION.

Also, somewhat related, you're not "converting" from binary to English, an actual complicated langauge with grammar, syntax, meaning, etc. You're converting to ASCII, a chosen set of characters (which you can make English out of), each of which relate to a certain number, which can be represented in binary, octal, hexadecimal, decimal, or any other base system. It might be English that you get out of a conversion, but there's no guarantee. It's not like your flash is knows English, it just knows how to convert one type of character representation to another. If I were to try to convert "chupa mi pene," it's not like the program would freak out because it's not English.

Finally, while you may have learned something coding/designing this for NG, there are far too many of these already, in much more appropriate forms. What does this offer me that others don't? Remember your audience and their time. Google returns tons of javascripts of this same thing. But instead, to come to NG, open up a flash movie with a proportionally huge memory and bandwidth overhead, a music track and a frivolous background and then get my conversion? I don't think so.

Thanks, but no thanks.

Not smooth

The constant moving speed is very hard to control. the movement is too abrupt. You should have the character accelerate to a given maximum speed, and then slow down to stillness. these need not be lengthy accelerations. maybe like a half or quarter second.

The

The game hasn't even loaded for me yet, but I know this is going to be total epic win based solely on the title.

Very faithful

Amazingly replicated! This takes me way back. I think I had a batman one of these.

Anyway, I love your design with the not lit up icons/pictures. Very thoughtful of you to make those just visible.

Sounds are exactly what I'd expect from a game of this type, so once again, very well replicated. However, they are a bit sharp or terse.

I was confused with the gameplay. I don't really know what to do on the valleys or how to get the helicopter to stop shooting me or how to avoid other bikers.

That's ok though. I still loved the nostalgia.

Few tips

O kiddo,

You're not converting from binary to English, a complicated langauge with grammar, syntax, meaning, etc. You're converting to ASCII, a lookup table of numeric values that relate to agreed upon characters. It might be English that you get out of a conversion, but not definitely. "Hablo ingles" could go in to your program, couldn't it? As could "sdkf ewrnok nvsknc"

Advanced? Not really. Generously, 20 lines per function are all it would take. I'm somewhat doubtful you wrote it yourself. The use of this conversion, beyond the kiddie "secret code" antics, seems to be a bit more complex than your other work would indicate your age/education to be.

Also, remember that while you may have learned something coding/designing this for NG, there are far too many of these already, in much more appropriate forms. Remember your audience and their time. Google returns several javascripts of this same thing. I certainly don't find it convenient to open up a flash movie with a proportionally huge memory and bandwidth overhead, a music track and a frivolous background.

Thanks, but no thanks.

Noice

I liked it. Played through to the end without hesitation! Poor little guy...

Make all screens passable by mouse AND keyboard. the achievements for example, could only be passed by click, whereas others could be by both. consistency is professional.

I wish there was a distance/alt/speed indicator earlier, but you made it something to work for i guess. However, i was a bit annoyed thinking there wasn't going to be one at all until i bought the right glider.

wonderful opener! very cute and intriguing! his facial expression wasn't very natural, but ill kick that to you being a new artist and all. Your style will come.

i had a lot of trouble at the beginning...i couldn't really understand what to do, and my poor flights had me thinking i was doing it wrong. Eventually, once some cash bought me my first glider, i understood what was up. Although you might have meant for it to be a tutorial or "see how shitty you are without glider" stage, it came off to be a bit wasteful in my mind and not really linear with how the rest of the game plays.

Please do something with the belly bounces, or whatever you'll call them. they were hardly useful (only made me decrease speed) and other techniques were much faster or better distancing/performing.

I'd smoke it.
